Meeting with Molly Schaus
U.S. Embassy in Latvia, Canadian Embassy in Latvia and Riga Hockey Cup invites you to a meeting with hockey player Molly Schaus!
 
From March 12 to 17, program "Hockey Envoy 2023" organized by the U.S. Embassy in Latvia will take place in Riga, Jelgava, Liepāja and Ventspils. Within the program, youth hockey players from all over Latvia will participate in hockey trainings and other events led by two NHL hockey players, Brett Kurtz and Molly Schaus.
 
The aim of the program is to engage young people through sports in a dialogue about the importance of leadership and diversity. US Embassy has already organized similar events in 2013 and 2015 in Liepāja, Ventspils and Jelgava, in which more than 300 young people participated. The 2023 program is build on the results of 2013 and 2015. Program is supported by Jelgava Ice Sports School, Liepāja Sports Games School, Ventspils Hockey Sports School.
 
The first meeting with Molly Schaus will take place on March 12 at 15:00 at the National Library of Latvia. Event will be organized together with Riga Hockey Cup. Let's learn more about her!
 
Molly played goalie on the U.S. Women's Ice Hockey team from 2008-2015, winning 2 Olympic Silver Medals and 4 IIHF World Championships. She graduated from Boston College in 2011 with a degree in Human Development and was named to the BC Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2018. She has 10+ years of experience working in youth sports, community engagement, and education, including 5 years with the Anaheim Ducks Fan Development team. She is currently an Athlete Fellow for LA28, the Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games and a youth hockey coach for the Anaheim Lady Ducks.
